I'm looking to save some money by buying cheaper parts online or at junk shops. If I buy these parts, can I bring them to an auto shop, and will they put the parts on the car for me? Or will they tell me that I have to buy new parts from them?

Hi there,

I have a 1994 Acura Integra. It was salvaged and rebuilt. I just bought a new air filter, it is a cirular type. I haven't open the air filter case to replace it yet but it appears to me that the case should have a rectangular shape air filter installed, not a circular one. But I bought the circular one because that's what the auto shop told me.

This is the question:

i recently noticed that my car was starting to lung into gears. Not to my surprise, the check engine light came on, i took my car to the auto shop (advance auto parts) the codes went through the computer and the asscociate working there told me that i needed another transmission speed sensor…however i dont feel like buying one used i want to either try and see if there are any wires loose or if it just needs to be replaced. SO, my question is, where is the transmission speed sensor located (on the ****** no doubt) and what kind of tools would i need to take to the salvage yard should the occasion arise. all answers will be very much so appreciated. thanks in advance
